This new and innovative three month show at the Quercia Gallery is an installation of twenty-one small works by each of thirty artists. The work of ten artists will be featured each month; January, February and March 2010. All twenty-one paintings are 6 inches by 6 inches, 2-dimensional mixed media and comprise a related body of work. The opening reception dates are Sunday, January 3, January 31 and February 28, 2010 from 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. Quercia Gallery is located in the country stores courtyard in Duncan’s Mills, CA. My body of work is titled “Chameleon Skies” and are oil paintings of Cannon Beach in Oregon. My artist’s statement regarding my paintings for this show: “This body of work captures my interpretation of a sunset and demonstrates the colors, patterns and composition it creates in relationship to the sea and shore. My focus is to keep the colors clear and simple with touches of my energetic and playful brushwork to initiate visual movement in the painting”
